Searching Extension – limit monthly purchasing amount by membership

I’m searching for this extension (or a combination of extensions), but hard to find.

[WHAT I WANT]

  • I want to build a paid-membership-based shop. (guest/unpaid members cannot buy)
  • Each member has a limitation on the total amount of monthly purchasing. e.g. “Bronz member” can purchase up to $1000 per month from my shop, “Silver member” can purchase up to $5000.
  • Membership period would be monthly or yearly.
  • Each 1st day of the month, the purchase limit is reset.

Have you seen this kind of extension?

How to successfully install Magento 2.4.6 on a Windows computer via Warden + WSL 2

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sQLUbQOBYv0

I understand there’s a bunch of tutorials on Youtube, but I could not find one for the life of me that worked.

So after struggling for several days to get it working, I made my own tutorial to setup the development environment for windows so that hopefully, others won’t have to struggle as much as I did.

Please let me know if you have any questions and I’d be glad to help.

Weird issue in magento 2 products not showing unless I duplicate them

So this is a really weird issue I’m having with 2.4.5
When I create a configurable product I do all the usual work of inputting the data and then change the visibility to hidden until our stock has arrived.
When the stock has arrived, all I normally need to do is change the visibility and everything is fine.

Lately though, no matter what I do they just won’t appear on the site, although I can go direct to the product via the URL it’s not showing any of the options (size, colour).

The only way I’ve been able to get around it is that if I just duplicate the configurable (and then change the status to enabled) and then everything is working as it should.
It is a pain doing it that way (until I can figure out the issue) as I have to delete my original configurable and then change the SKU and url key to match the original.

I’ve done exports to compare between the original and duplicate to see if there is any data difference but nothing.

CmsInstaller Utility module

About a year ago I made this module, the idea was to use it as means of moving cms pages or blocks from one env to other while keeping track of changes to page/block through a file that is added to git repository.

There are some similar solutions out there but I just wanted to share mine here and if somebody finds it useful, well that’s just great 🙂

Debating a switch to Shopify

Hi, We’ve been running a Magento store since 2016 now, doing low 7 figure revenue numbers very steadily but honestly with stagnated growth. The website is slow. We’re talking single digit lighthouse reports slow. It’s a mess but our customer base seems to fight through it because of prices and customer service (were B2B). Our organic traffic is nearly non existent and we rely almost entirely on paid for customer acquisition. There are many bugs on the site, which we simply do not have budget to fix, I’m given 40 hours of dev agency time each month to work on fixes and implementing new features and it really isn’t enough to even keep on top of new bugs never mind working through the backlog. We’ve been planning to do a Hyva upgrade (from a different budget) which is being sold as a magical fix for all our issues and we were quoted £20k for a port of our Pearl theme to Hyva. Here is our dilemma: Last year I spun up 2 Shopify sites for the business, as brand sites for brands we work with as UK distributors. These Shopify sites took 3 months to start taking considerable orders and another 3 months to outrank our main Magento store in page rankings and surpass the main stores organic traffic numbers. All whilst having no content outside basic product descriptions, and much higher prices. We do not do anything in M2 that can’t be replicated in Shopify with an off the shelf app.

TLDR: I’d love to know everyone’s opinion, is a move from Magento to Shopify a step backwards or not?

Magento 2 Bulk Product Upload Problems

Hello Magento community,
I’m reaching out in hopes of finding a solution for a daunting challenge we’re encountering with our Magento 2 store.
Our product inventory is rapidly expanding and is soon set to surpass the 500K mark. We’ve been trying to use Magento’s Async Bulk Product API for the massive bulk upload. However, it’s turning out to be significantly slower than what we can work with.
We’ve already attempted to do our part with server optimization, increasing memory limits, operating during off-peak hours, and partitioning the product file into smaller chunks, but the performance improvement is still not sufficient.
Given the scale of our product database and the frequency of updates required, this process needs to be more efficient.
Has anyone here dealt with a similar issue and found a resolution? Are there other bulk upload methods or third-party tools that could handle such a volume more efficiently?
Any insights, advice or recommendations would be deeply appreciated.
Thanks in advance for your time!

Hi Magento devs, I have been using Magento2 for less than a year but doing a lot of customisation and adding new APIs. I still face challenges when need to override some internal functionality as it requires internal application change. I feel like I don’t know best practice to solve or make those changes. Please help me in understanding those things. Thanks in advance.

What are the pros and cons of starting a career as a Magento developer?

As I have read, it appears developing using Magento is a dreadful experience, but there must be positives to learning Magento and making a living out of it.

I’ve looked for jobs online and there really aren’t that many job postings in this environment, it looks like getting a job with Magento would be very hard.

Anyhow, I’d very much appreciate your input in this matter.

Experienced Web Developers Needed for Established Furniture Retail Store

We are currently seeking skilled web developers to create a new website for a well-established company. The company previously had a website that lacked modern functionality and had an unsatisfactory user interface. We are open to both custom-built solutions or using platforms such as Shopify, WooCommerce, BigCommerce, or Magento. We are primarily seeking guidance and expertise from senior developers who can handle this project.

The company is a furniture retail store with a physical location, and they are planning to open their second store within the next three months. We need a professional who can not only build the entire website but also maintain it for an indefinite period. If you prefer not to maintain the site, we can arrange for a team to take over once the site is built. We have a generous budget for this project, and time is a critical factor.

If you are interested, please reach out to us via live chat here or send a message to our Google Chat at [email protected]. We look forward to hearing from you.
